What’s the story?
By Jessica Dawson, Common Sense Media, April 2009
If you haven’t heard the music of The Learning Station, don’t worry, your children probably have. This established, talented group of educators has won numerous awards for their music, including Dr. Toy’s 100 Best Children’s Products, and is often used in preschool and lower elementary classrooms across the country. Now fans can put on their cowboy and cowgirl boots and get scootin’ to some knee-slappin, banjo-beats. KID’S COUNTRY SONG & DANCE includes 18 singalong songs, a 24-page booklet with lyrics, actions, and dance movements, and a whole lot o’ fun to get you and your youngun’s dancin’.
Is it any good?
The Learning Station is all about “healthy music for a child’s heart, body, and mind.” No doubt their latest release, Kid’s Country Song & Dance will get fans on their feet, moving and singing to a fun country beat. This album encourages and teaches movement, listening, patterns and repetition, coordination, numbers, and vocabulary.
There are some old, recognizable favorites, like “You Are My Sunshine” and “Cotton Eyed Joe,” and others such as “Shoo Fly,” “Knees Up Mother Brown,” and “Shake Your Sillies Out” that kids will absolutely love to shake, stomp, wiggle, and giggle to. There’s even a song naming the 50 states, (to the tune of “Oh! Susanna”) that will have your preschoolers ready for geography. Every tune is a dandy on this family album, and will have everyone dancing until the cows come home.

Want to give you kids the ability to sing, dance and use their imagination? Want to see your kids be active, laugh and enjoy music performed by people who obviously love helping children learn, have fun & grow? Then “The Learning Station” is a company you don’t want to pass up…
These songs are fun and make the kids want to grab their banjo and play some good ol’ country music. LOL! Put on your western hats and boots for this toe-tappin’, knee slappin’, dancin’ sing-a-long collection of songs.
I would recommend The Learning Station to any parent looking for some music to inspire their kids to get up and get active. These songs are not ones that are going to make your child sit still! LOL!! They are going to want to get up and move around…dance and prance and shake their groove thing. Trust me…I saw it put into action with my four kids.
